Competitive Strengths

GSL's competitive strengths will allow the Company to execute its business strategy and deliver a clear value proposition both to its shareholders and customers.

Appropriate asset mix.
The composition of our fleet is designed to meet the needs of our customer base over the long term. Our main focus is upon mid-sized and smaller containerships which can be deployed on many different trade routes, giving increased flexibility in the re-charter market.

Reputable and expert ship management.
We will continue to work with reputable and expert third party ship managers, helping us to enhance risk management and facilitate benchmarking of costs and best practices.

Experienced management team.
GSL's management team has significant depth and breadth of experience within the shipping industry, including within liner shipping, ship finance and ship management. This affords the Company a textured understanding of the needs of its customer base. Further strengthened and supported by the GSL Board of Directors, the management team has access to a large network of industry relationships to facilitate the identification and pursuit of future acquisitions and charter opportunities as the Company expands its customer base.

Full service solution.
We provide time charters, which combine full financing and technical management and crewing of high-quality vessels, allowing liner companies to manage their balance sheets and free up strategic capital and management resources for core activities.

Focused service offering.
Our business model is focused upon charter-attached transactions, primarily in the mid-sized and smaller containership segment, enabling GSL to maximize asset utilization and minimize market risk.

Cost effective.
GSL's business model drives operational and financing efficiencies and maximizes the quality of its service offering. Selected activities are outsourced to quality service providers, in order to keep overheads low and allow the business to be readily scalable.
